Lapel Pins Express
The Cloisonné Lapel Pin Experts
Our cloisonné lapel pins continue the fine-art tradition of glass enameling which started in China centuries ago. Cloisonné Lapel Pins were made from hand-pouring powdered glass into the recesses of a pin’s design. The pin is then baked at a very high temperature; the glass enamel is sanded and polished to be flush with the metal lines that separate the colors. This gives the lapel pins a smooth and lustrous quality. The brass can be plated in gold, silver, or black nickel. While the Cloisonné pin created a beautiful pin, the use of ground grass was very expensive and had a very limited color palette. We utilize powdered hard enamel paint in our cloisonné style pin to make the pins more affordable and allow for a incredibly large color palette.
